Tickets listing the old venue will be honoured at the show, and we have just received sold out of a new batch of 50 tickets with the venue change printed.
Looks like it's going to be a busy few days in the shop at the end of April, as the already-announced Peter Moren in-store will be followed three days later by a short performance from this town's own Born Ruffians, playing among our shelves on Sunday, April 27th at 4pm; get your tickets for their Lee's Palace show the night before (Saturday the 26th) while some still remain (SOLD OUT!).
On Saturday, April 19, hundreds of independent records stores around the World will celebrate Record Store Day. The folks organizing the day have compiled an interesting selection of quotes from notable musicians like Tom Waits and Bruce Springsteen extolling the virtues of supporting independent music stores, check them out here. Some excerpts:
"Record stores keep the human social contact alive, it brings people together. Without the independent record stores, the community breaks down with everyone sitting in front of their computers" - Ziggy Marley
“The idea of, ‘The journey is the destination’ is put into action by browsing in an indie record store. Besides, a human being is a much better guide than a ‘More Like This’ link on the internet.” - Patton Oswalt
In celebration of Record Store Day, all CDs, DVDs, and books will be 10% off on Saturday, April 19. Please stop by and celebrate with us.
Please note that the Switch performance at Circa has been switched (!) from Fri. Apr 25 to a new rescheduled date of Fri. Jun 27. Tickets listing the old date will be honoured at the venue, but refunds will be given at point of purchase for those unable to make the newly announced date.
