MAKE SOME NOISE: FREE Toronto Public Library concerts + music workshops

Once again, us here at Soundscapes are partnering with Exclaim! Magazine and the Polaris
Music Prize
to help the Toronto Public Library support local music in Toronto through their Make
Some Noise
program.

This year's installment of the series gets underway with two great FREE, unticketed, all-ages events:

FUCKED UP

with special guests
ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS

Fri. May 28 at 8pm (doors 7:30pm)
Toronto Reference Library, 789 Yonge Street (just north of Bloor)

MAKE SOME NOISE workshop
Featuring CBC Radio 3 host VISH KHANNA

Ask questions, get answers, in this informal Q&A session with pop
culture journalist, musician, and Radio 3 host Vish Khanna.
Fledgling musicians and journalists get insights about various sides of the independent music industry.

Wed. Jun 2 at 7pm
Toronto Reference Library (Beeton Auditorium), 789 Yonge Street

The Make Some Noise…Take Some Noise program brings the library's local music collection of nearly 900
CDs to life in the stacks of branches around the city.

Make Some Noise, which won the Ontario Library Association's 2009 Media
and Communications Award, provides people of all ages an opportunity to
see Toronto's hottest indie bands for free, live in the stacks at
library branches around the city. Make Some Noise workshops encourage
participation in the arts, especially for youth, and can help toward
developing employment opportunities through education and awareness.

For more information, visit the program's blog, the Library's website at torontopubliclibrary.ca, or call the TPL Answerline at 416-393-7131.
